AMOST colourful flag appeared over Redditch Town Hall on Saturday, July 19, which I recognised as the flag of Jamaica.
I was informed by the information desk at the town hall that a civic reception was being held in honour of a visit by Maxine Roberts, the Jamaican High Commissioner.
Now that's fine by me but why not fly the Union Flag alongside it?
And can someone give me a reason why the very next day after the Union Flag has been hoisted in recognition of a significant royal anniversary or national event our flag is taken down?
A large number of our leading industrial and commercial companies who sport a flagpole above their buildings appear to to fly the Union Flag most of the time, not just the odd day, and are proud to do so.
I wonder how many people share my concern that a European Union flag will one day supplant our Union Flag altogether?
