FIVE youngsters who are still suffering as a result of the world's worst nuclear disaster had a day out to remember on Sunday thanks to Hatton Country World and the Redditch Advertiser.
Every year, a group of children and their parents are invited to Britain from Chernobyl in the Ukraine to stay with host families, including several in Inkberrow.
The group were due to go to Barry Island but looming bad weather cancelled the trip and organisers were left with a dilemma.
But after a call was made by the Advertiser to the generous folk at Hatton Country World, a superb free day of fun was arranged.
The five youngsters and their guardians were treated to numerous activities, including a giant maze, guinea pig village, falconry displays, children's entertainer and sheep racing.
A Hatton Country World spokesman said: "There was plenty of fun things for the group to take part in and see and we were absolutely delighted we could step in and help."
A group spokesman said: "The youngsters had a brilliant time and one of their mothers said it was the best day out they had ever had.
"We are so grateful to Hatton Country World and the Advertiser."
