KIDDERMINSTER failed in their bid to win the Birmingham Premier League 2nd XI Challenge Cup when they were beaten by Harborne in the final at Chester Road.
The home side, winners of the competition in 1993, looked to be in with a good chance when they restricted thier opponents to 118-7 from 18 eight-ball overs.
But the task of seven runs an over proved too much after a slow start and the loss of a wicket in the second over.
Not one opposing bowler had any great haul of wickets to show for some tidy bowling, but Kidderminster only chanced their arm when it was too late.
They fell short at 109-6 and top scorers were Paul Mitchell (38) and Luke Eversham 33 not out).
Harborne 118-7, KVCC 109-6.
