A DISAPPOINTING performance by Bewdley in a top-of-the-table game saw Brockhampton pick up 24 points and the home side none from this Worcestershire League Division Two fixture.
Ben Jones won the toss and elected to bat, but the decision was soon regretted as Malik put two batsmen back in the pavilion for ducks, and Jones heading for hospital after a ball landed on his foot.
Simon Smith and Mark Bennett resisted for a while before Bewdley slumped to 55-7 - effectively eight with Jones out of the action - with too many poor shots selected.
Mark Edwards joined Mike Harris to show that runs could be scored, as they put on 57 before Malik returned to polish off the innings in the 35th over.
In reply, Brockhampton set off briskly, with 35 off the first four overs. Jason Taylor picked up a couple of wickets before Cook and Walker put on 61 to take Brockhampton home in the 18th over, just in time to avoid a downpour.
Bewdley 115, Brockhampton 118-2.
Bewdley seconds and Cavaliers matches were abandoned after little or no play, due to rain.
