STONE Cricket Club recorded their first victory for five matches when they beat Hallow by 88 runs in their Worcestershire League Division Six encounter.
Asked to bat first, Stone lost a wicket in the second over but sound attacking by Pete Harler for his 42, the in-form Mike Weideman (62) and captain Nick Powell (36), enabled the villagers to reach 170-5, with five overs remaining.
Pete Durnell then hit a quick 35no to end on 215-7 off their 45 overs, C Stratford taking 4-38 for Hallow.
Rain during the break livened up the wicket, but Hallow batted well, with Brooks (40) and Searle (50no) sharing a half-century stand for the second wicket.
But on Brooks' departure Hallow fell apart to the pace of Powell (2-19) and Weideman (3-28), collapsing from 79-2 to 127 all out.
Stone 215-7, Hallow 127.
Stone's home friendly with Peopleton on Sunday had to be called off as the ground was waterlogged from the previous day's heavy rain.
