BUILDING work is progressing well on new luxury apartments along the Birmingham-Worcester Canal at Diglis - and they have already proved a big hit with county housebuyers.
The Neil Grinnall Homes development is made up of 41 apartments, penthouses and town houses on the site of the old Brooklyn Ford garage.
Prices for the Bath Road properties start at £135,000 for a one-bed apartment up to around £400,000 for a penthouse.
The Stourport company reported a keen interest from house buyers with 17 flats bought or reserved by the end of June.
"Most of our buyers are local people, some of them attracted by the idea of city living, some of them looking to invest," said developer Neil Grinnall.
"What is very clear is that there is no shortage of buyers for property of the highest spec in the best locations."
This will be the company's second development alongside the canal, with the first on Diglis Road having sold out within days of going on the market.
The company also has its sights set on the Kays Building, in the Tything, with plans to transform it into apartments.
