POLICE are threatening to ban troublesome youths from certain quarters of Droitwich in a bid to slash vandalism and under-age drinking.

With the school summer holidays underway, parents are being told to keep closer tabs on their youngsters to ensure they aren't causing a nuisance within the community.

Complaints about young people behaving anti-socially have soared in recent weeks and police are launching high profile patrols to keep the peace over the coming weeks.

Nuisance

"During the school holidays we often see an escalation in reports of minor nuisance and we would ask parents to be aware of where their children are and what they are doing," said town beat manager PC Lloyd Buffery.

Officers have made numerous visits to the Lido Park in recent weeks and some local children have been responsible for damage to adjacent properties and fences.

"I have spoken with a number of youngsters in the park found misbehaving or breaking alcohol bylaws," said PC Buffery.

"Their details have been taken and their behaviour will be monitored through our anti-social behaviour scheme."

He confirmed police patrols and plain clothes officers will be in and around the Lido and other areas in Droitwich throughout the holidays.
