The Tenbury Methodist Church Sponsor a Child Fund helps Moises, an eight year old boy from a very poor family in Bolivia, with his education, and the well-being of his family.
Church members have been supporting Moises for many years using church funds and for £236 a year they provide schooling, his uniform, three school meals a day, sports, books and for his birthday and at Christmas, and a gift of £10 for his teachers to buy him a suitable gift.
The added bonus is that out of this small sum his family are given information and help with hygiene and agriculture.
Described by his teacher as a very bright boy, average in school and loves music- which pleases members because Methodists love to sing, - wrapped up in the warmth and care supplied by Tenbury Methodists, Moises now has the opportunity to flourish into a young man who one day will be capable of earning a living and hopefully helping others along the way.
He writes regularly in his native language - which is translated- to thank everyone for the gifts and brings them up to date on all his news.
A coffee morning on June 5 at the Methodist School Room in Cross Street raised over £150 for the Moises project. Methodists like to collect funds to give away and the Sponsor a Child Fund is a very worth cause.
