GET out your platforms, glitter and flares.

You may not be able to see the real Abba in concert, but if you want to get as close as possible to the real thing, then the Abba Mania tribute show should do the trick.

The show will be thrilling audiences when it comes to Images Nightclub, Worcester, for one night only on Thursday, August 7.

Vikki Holland-Bowyer, whose production and management company Atmosphere Productions recently re-cast the show, said audiences should have the time of their life.

"Twenty-three Abba songs are performed with costume changes, dance routines, Swedish accents and audience participation," said Vikki.

Vikki said the show would give disappointed Abba fans who could not see Voulez Vous at New Road cricket ground, after the event was cancelled, the chance to see an award-winning Abba show.

Worcester-born Vikki is no stranger to the stage herself, as she has been in shows and bands all over the world.

Auditions

For the last four years she has played the role of Frida in Abba Mania, which was produced by another company at the time.

The show hit the big time in London's West End last year.

During that time she set up Atmosphere Productions with her partner, Chris Barnett, and they recast the show in January this year, holding the auditions at Images.

"We auditioned more than 60 hopefuls and finally got our new Abba cast to make up the band," said Vikki.

"Pete Wiesz plays Bjorn, Darryl Boot plays Benny, Joanne Libby plays Agnetha and Katrina Wallis plays Frida."

The band also has additional musicians as the original band did. Simon Horn plays bass, Guy Watson will be on guitar and Ali Van Ryne plays the drums.

"Chris and I spent day after day with the band directing and choreographing the dance routines until it was up to the West End standard, ready for its European tour which started in Germany in March," said Vikki.

"Since then it has been to Wolverhampton, Leeds, Inverness and Croydon, playting infront of audiences of up to 3,000 people a night, including tracks such as Waterloo, Mamma Mia, Money Money Money, Fernando and Dancing Queen.

The rest of the tour is set for Torquay, Belgium, Holland, Dubai and the USA.

Tickets for the gig are £5 each and include a free drink.
