A CHARITY football tournament in memory of a former Burlish Olympic player raised £200 for a national cancer charity.
The first Burlish Olympic veterans over-40s football tournament, held to commemorate Billy Rice, was such a success organisers say it will become an annual event.
Club president Derek Colley said 12 teams took part in the competition and they are hoping for more next year.
"It was so successful that it will be an annual event which will hopefully grow," he said.
He added club secretary June Thomas would be presenting Billy Rice's widow Donna with a £200 cheque for Cancer Research UK.
Mr Rice played for Stourport Swifts and then for Burlish Olympic until a year before he died of cancer three months ago aged 42.
