The summer outing for members and friends was a visit to the Wedgwood Pottery Centre and Hodnet Hall Gardens.
On July 16 Dr Mark Baldwin described the life of Simon Evans, who came to Cleobury Mortimer as a postman in 1926. After a study course with Ruskin College, he wrote four books, including Round about the Crooked Steeple. Mr Evans died in 1940, aged just 45, due to injuries sustained in the First World War.
The previous meeting featured a talk on the history of the RAF by Mike Wilks.
His talk included developments in Worcestershire such as Hartlebury depot, airfields at Perdiswell, Pershore and Defford, and the Malvern Research Establishment.
Mr Wilks is keen to record local events before they are forgotten or lost. For information on the club telephone Jeff Higgott on 01299 861390.
