Terry Bullingham was the guest speaker for July. He told of his experiences in the Falklands War in 1982 and the help he received from St Dunstans after he lost his sight.
Three members attended the national council meeting at the ICC in Birmingham when the guest speakers were Lord Alton and Dame Stephanie Shirley.
The group has visited Broadhouse Farm for a flower demonstration by David's Nursery and an art gallery.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, September 11, starting at 7.45pm at Burlish Middle School, when Mr Jones will talk about beekeeping.
There will be a preserves stall. New members will be welcome.
