I WAS absolutely appalled at the conditions 36 dogs had to endure on the 750-mile journey to race and train in Spain for the sport of greyhound racing.
Surely something should be done to stop the way live animals are transported from this country to abroad in such terrible conditions. A country of animal lovers I think not.
Why can't a small tax be put on greyhound racing so these animals can be treated humanely during their racing lives and also in retirement?
