POLICE are appealing for information after a man tried to abduct a 13-year-old girl in Bewdley.
The teenager was walking home alone near Hales Park in Wyre Hill when the incident happened at 7.30pm on Friday.
The offender, described as a white man in his mid-30s, followed the girl , then approached her from behind, putting his arm around her.
He offered her a lift, which she refused. Then he climbed into his car and drove slowly alongside the girl, talking to her through an open window.
The offender, who is between 5ft 10ins and 6ft, with a large build, round face and short brown hair spiked up at the front, was wearing a red T-shirt and dirty blue denim jeans.
He had short fingernails and smelled of cigarettes and drove a white four-door Ford car, possibly an Escort, with grey upholstery and a GB sticker on the back.
A yellow magic tree air freshener was also hanging from the rear view mirror.
