A PLAN to deal with almost half of household rubbish by thermal treatment has been approved.
Worcestershire County Council's cabinet voted through the blueprint which will now form the basis of the county's first Waste Local Plan to cover the period until 2015.
It aims for a minimum of 33 per cent of rubbish to be recycled, a maximum of 22 per cent to go to landfill and the rest to be thermally treated.
Last summer a proposed burner at Kidderminster's British Sugar site was thrown out by a planning inspector.
