COMMUNITY and voluntary groups have been invited to take a first glance at Kidderminster Hospital's £14 million diagnostic and treatment centre.
The facility is nearly finished, with the first phase on target to open by the end of the year and a "topping out" ceremony planned to mark the completion of the outside of the structure planned for next Thursday.
The redesigned E block will house a wide range of outpatient and short-stay inpatient treatments as well as four operating theatres, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and CT (Computed Tomography) scanners.
Project director David Evans said it was possible to arrange tours for groups wanting to see how the DTC is shaping up.
"We are keen to give local people the chance to get the inside view on this very exciting development in healthcare which is happening in their area."
Dr James Goodman, of Wyre Forest Primary Care Trust, said the centre was "leading the way for the future of healthcare services on a national basis" and would help district people "regain confidence" in healthcare provision.
