TWO lucky Evening News readers will be on cloud nine after winning a trip in a hot air balloon.
Jenny Stevenson and Jeannie Vaughan were two out of hundreds of entrants in the competition organised by Malvern Hills and Wyre Forest District Councils and the Worcestershire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre, which runs a variety of energy saving schemes across the county.
The brain teaser set by the competition was how many hot air balloons could be filled with CO2 emissions which would be saved if all 70,000 householders in Malvern Hills and Wyre Forest district followed the energy saving advice offered by EEAC.
Both Miss Stevenson, of Coxwell Drive, Malvern Link, and Mrs Vaughan, of Manor Avenues South, Kidderminster, correctly answered 23,000.
"It's fantastic," said Miss Stevenson, aged 63. "This is something I've wanted to do ever since I was a little girl."
She was presented with a voucher for her balloon trip by Councillor Graham Myatt, portfolio holder for housing at Malvern Hills District Council.
