A WELLAND painter is hoping to make a splash with the first ever gallery exhibition of his work.
Anthony Leahy is showing an exhibition entitled Hot Tuscan Sunshine and Quiet English Meadows at the Malvern Hills Gallery on St Ann's Road.
"Last year I was lucky enough to have a holiday in Tuscany," he said."What I'm trying to show is the difference between the brightness of the Mediterranean climate compared with the quieter, English one we have."
The exhibition will include oils and watercolours of Tuscan scenery next to depictions of English meadows, countryside and churches.
It will be the first time Mr Leahy has shown his work in a gallery exhibition, though he has staged successful winter shows at Welland Village Hall.
All the paintings on show will be for sale, and the exhibition will run from August 4 until September 5.
