AT last the truth/common sense is coming out about the congestion in the High Street (Robert H Rowlands letter July 10).
We don't need expensive surveys to tell us that with the increased residential building at Swan Brook, Mill Street, Old Mill, Box Factory etc that it is bound to lead to chaos along High Street, Waterside and Port Street because that's the only way people living there can get home.
So come on local councillors have the courage to admit you got it wrong with the Swan Lane one-way system - it's a disaster and not working. One of the original reasons for it was to help with the long HGV's which were leaving the meat factory and other industrial units in that area - they have all closed and been replaced with - yes more houses.
So let common sense not stubbornness rule the day and revert to the two-way system in Swan Lane.
