THE 10th anniversary of a pioneering Gloucestershire project to provide top class office accommodation in the buildings of what was once a Victorian model farm was marked by the presentation of a major architectural award.

Former Cotswold MEP Lord Plumb officially opened the Steadings Business Centre for Jeremy Chamberlayne at Maisemore when he was president of the Council of Europe.

On Friday, July 11, he made a return visit to present one of the Oscars of rural architecture.

The innovative and imaginative conversion of a 12-bay Dutch barn and a 200-year-old wagon shed into a two-storey office complex is the latest phase which began a decade ago has won an award in the CLA Buildings Award Scheme.

Judges said it was innovative, attractive and practical.
