GUILTY: Many are guilty of having the occasional garden bonfire. The cost of a decent grade shredder puts this out of reach of many and they resort to burning the prunings. However, some think it anti-social to light fires during very hot weather. A plea to spare a thought for others before lighting up.

VANDALS: Both public houses, The Fox and Hounds and The Royal Oak, have been looking terrific this summer, with floral decoration to dazzle the onlooker. How sad then, on Saturday night that the displays at The Fox were vandalised. If only we still had a village bobby!
