Mr Tarplett (Your Letters, July 25) states that twelve of the Conservators' sheep have been killed by dogs. This is very unfortunate, and it is of course not the dogs that are to blame but their owners. He then says that dogs should be banned from the southern end of the Hills.
We now hear that a herd of cattle is to be introduced to the northern end of the hills - again in the name of conservation. Will it be wild boar next ?
The suggestion might be to ban dogs; I fear that people could be next on the list!
