MATHON, Cradley & Storridge (MCS) Mens (B) team completed their summer league campaign with a hard-earned draw against Ludlow Burway Tennis Club.
Chris Brandon-White and Duncan Hannaford won their opening rubber 7-5, 6-1 before losing 4-6, 4-6.
In contrast, Phil Toghill and Tony Dalley lost their first match 2-6, 2-6, however, they found some consistency in the final rubber winning 6-1, 6-3 to secure the draw.
MCS would like to thank Paul Grubb and staff of the Horseshoe Inn, Ledbury for providing excellent food and drink for the game.
The MCS Mixed A team travelled to play Hallow A for an evening match and gained a winning draw which should secure a mid-table position in the league.
Carol Dandy and Duncan Hannaford started strongly never giving their opponents time to settle in to the match to win 6-2, 6-1. Carol and Duncan lost a very close second match 6-7, 6-2, 5-7.
The other MCS pair of Janet Brown and Phil Toghill lost a close rubber 6-7, 5-7. However, Janet and Phil hit back from a set down to win the final rubber 0-6, 6-1, 7-5 to secure a winning draw.
Both clubs played some fine tennis despite the wet conditions.
