THE English Symphony Orchestra will provide a magical journey of classical romance from Spain, through Italy to the land of the Arabian nights at a fireworks extravaganza at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern in August.
Conducted by William Boughton, the programme for Passionate Classics on Saturday, August 23, will include Rimsky Korsakov's Scheherezade Suite, Chabrier's rousing Espana and Rodrigo's captivating classical guitar concerto made famous by the film Brassed Off.
The fireworks finale to Ravel's Bolero, made popular by ice-dancers Torvill and Dean and the Dudley Moore film 10, will end the evening of picnics and classical music.
Gates open at 4.45pm and the English Symphony Orchestra Children's Orchestra will perform a bonus concert at 6pm before the main concert at 7pm.
Tickets are £17 in advance and £20 on the day, with one child admitted free for every adult, and are available from the box office on 01684 560696.
