NEW Worcester-based arts production company artworcs is holding a series of practical one-day workshops at University College Worcester during the Worcester Festival.
Local playwright and artworcs co-founder Lance Woodman is running a dramatic workshop for beginners called Making a Scene on Tuesday, August 19, and he explained: "We want to give people a chance to work with professional artists to develop new skills or brush up their existing talents. We aim to make the sessions instructive and fun."
There will be two sessions especially designed to be suitable for all the family. Compose Yourself on Wednesday, August 20, a chance for children an adults to create an original piece of music, is led by Andy Watts.
On Friday, August 22, Sheila Farrell is running Something from Nothing, an art session which encourages people to create sculpture out of everyday objects.
Other workshops include What is Drawing? on Thursday, August 21, an exploration of drawing techniques led by Sheila Farrell, and Writing on Air, Saturday, August 23, writing a play for radio led by Peter Leslie Wild.
Prices for the sessions range from £10 to £25 per person and full details are available at www.artworcs.ukartists.com or artworcs, PO Box 472, Worcester WR3 7ZR.
