A FLEDGLING business launched by a woman in Broadway aimed at helping shoppers and producers is set to take off.
The Natural Gourmet is the brainchild of Eva Barkasz who has a solid foundation of senior management experience in the top quality end of the food service industry.
The 40-year-old professes to be driven by curiosity about new flavours, cuisine and love of sourcing and promoting great food, offering traceability and supporting artisans and small farmers.
"I decided to start my own company while considering a career option," she explained.
"The company offers a tailor-made shopping service aimed at delivering fantastic food products that are either fresh, farm, natural, organic, or artisan produced to people who love good food but don't have the time or knowledge to buy it themselves."
In a nutshell, she said, she offered a personal gourmet food shopping service, sourced locally and delivering either to residents in Belgravia, Knightsbridge and Chelsea, or in the Evesham area.
"As I commute almost daily between Broadway and Pimlico I am also quite happy to do London shopping for residents and even restaurants, but my main emphasis is to promote Cotswold food.
Already she is working on a few other ideas, such as producing welcome packs of Cotswold food items to estate agents, hotels and the like.
When she was at the University of Surrey, Guilford, where she gained a BSc (Hons) in hotel and catering administration, she was made a Fellow of the University and was winner of the Portman Rose Bowl for the final theses most relevant to the industry, based on businesswomen as a market segment.
