READING Today in History (Evening News, July 22) I see that in 1986, MPs voted to abolish the cane in schools.
Since that time there has been very little discipline either in school or within the home. I believe that this is why we have so much crime on the streets.
Children are no longer taught any form of control - they just do as they like.
If corporal punishment were reintroduced into schools, it should benefit us all, young and old alike.
