PICKING up their magnifying glasses and deerstalkers, pupils at Grimley and Holt Primary School became super-sleuths on the trial of the worst offenders for wasting energy.
The youngsters, aged between four and 11, scoured their school in Grimley, near Worcester, for evidence that energy was being wasted and how efficiency could be improved.
They took a closer look at how energy-efficient lighting and insulation could make a difference to the environment and the school's gas and electricity bills.
The event was organised with the Worcestershire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre, a charity aimed at cutting fuel consumption and helping the environment.
"We're very keen for youngsters to become switched on to energy efficiency," said Lynn Melling, assistant manager of the charity.
"Not only is it important to get the message over early in their life, it also means they'll go home and persuade their parents to become more energy aware as well."
