Police are appealing for information after a man stole several bars of chocolate from McColls newsagents in Church Hill centre).

As the man was leaving the shop a woman who saw him steal the chocolate approached him and he swore at her.

The incident happened on Sunday, July 27, at about 4.20pm.

Officers are appealing for information after shoplifters punched a woman in the face.

It happened on Thursday, October 30, at about 7pm when a man and a woman walked into Gentry Stores in Farm Road.

They started behaving suspiciously and then tried to steal some groceries.

A woman shop assistant followed the pair out to try to get the property back.

She struggled briefly with the woman and suffered bruising as a result.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have information about a man who stole petrol from a petrol station in Washford Drive.

The man drove up to the garage forecourt in a silver Rover and filled up with more than £30 of petrol at about 11.20am on Friday, September 26, before driving off without paying.
