Pelsall Villa 0
Studley 3
STUDLEY'S winning streak rolled on as their latest success saw Mark Chambers' men climb up to fifth on the Midland Alliance ladder.
A Mark Crisp brace and Mark Neath's strike was enough to see off second-from-bottom Pelsall whose 16-year-old keeper made a string of saves to keep the score respectable on Saturday.
"We had a lot of chances and maybe should have scored more goals," said Chambers. "We would have been expected to beat Pelsall who put out a very young side. So, before the game, I told the players I wanted us to keep a clean sheet and I was happy that we did that."
The Bees took the lead before half-time when Crisp finished off Neath's left-sided cross from eight yards but new man Marlon Silvestre was thwarted on a number of times by the home side's young shot-stopping skipper.
Crisp grabbed his second 15 minutes into the second half as Studley enjoyed the lion's share of possession with Neath thundering in a shot from 18 yards with 20 minutes left on the clock.
There was a further boost for Chambers when Steve Duncan came off the bench to make his first appearance in a Studley shirt for 18 months after being out with persistent groin and pelvic problems. The midfielder should be in the squad for Saturday's home clash with Chasetown (3pm).
