Feckenham 6

Pershore 0

IT just gets better and better for promotion-chasing Feckenham. They hit Pershore for six and Midland Combination Premier leaders Romulus lose at home 2-1 to Leamington all in one day.

There's still a 10-point gap between The Millers and Romulus but that won't worry manager Lee Adams who, with an embarrassment of riches on the bench, saw his side run riot on Saturday as Kevin Leggatt helped himself to a hat-trick.

Adams stuck with the side that beat Rugby Town 2-1 last week which meant that the returning Gary Beadling, Brian Powell and Steve Ferguson were all named as subs.

Leggett opened the scoring seven minutes before half-time when he chipped the 'keeper and the home side stormed to a 3-0 goal advantage just five minutes into the second half when first Stuart Douglas tapped in at the far post and then Leggatt grabbed a second.

Veteran Powell, who has recovered from a hamstring and calf injury, came off the bench and quickly earned his side a penalty when he was upended in the box.

Powell, the club's penalty taker, then handed the spotkick for Leggatt to dispatch his hat-trick as James Arthur tapped home for the home side's fifth with Powell wrapping up the goal rout with a deserved sixth.

"We have been winning but only by the odd goal," said manager Adams afterwards. "So you could say that it was a very satisfying result. We noticed that Romulus lost but all we can do is keep plugging away and hopefully win our game in hand."

Feckenham welcome Meir KA to the Valley Stadium this Saturday when Mark Davis will come back in the squad which will be missing Simon Redhead who is away.
