WORCESTER Swimming Club returned from the ASA National Masters Championships at Sheffield with a healthy medal tally.
Racing against some of the country's best Masters swimmers at the Ponds Forge pool, the club's five competitors all came home with medals, winning four golds, five silvers and seven bronzes.
Championship debutante Katie Peachey was the star of the show, winning three gold medals in the ladies' 100m and 200m individual medley and the 100m breaststroke in a new British record for her age group.
She also landed bronze medals in the 50m breaststroke and 50m and 100m butterfly.
Worcester's other gold medal went to Gordon Reeves, who retained his age group title in the men's 50m backstroke and added silvers in the 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly. He was also fourth in the 50m butterfly.
Chris Reeves added bronzes in the 200m butterfly and 200m freestyle, and was seventh in the 50m butterfly and 200m individual medley.
Andy Lowe took a bronze in the 100m individual medley, was fifth in the 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle and seventh in the 50m freestyle. Andy Wells was fifth in the 200m individual medley.
Team spirit shone through as the men's relay team of Reeves, Reeves, Lowe and Wells snatched two silver medals in closely fought races in the 4x50m medley and freestyle relays.
There were even encouraging results from some of the Worcester exiles, with Ellie Martin of Reading producing five top eight finishes, the highlight being a bronze in the 400m individual medley.
