BROMSGROVE RFC Colts lost a dour battle 10-3 against Earlsdon at Finstall Park last Saturday.
The first half was dominated by wave after wave of attacks by the visitors, manfully resisted by Bromsgrove.
Bromsgrove lost captain Warren Oliver after ten minutes with a recurrence of an ankle injury.
Matt Williams joined the team and was instrumental in the best attack of the first half, jinking his way passed several tackles to feed Pinfield, who charged into the opposition 22-metre area before being bundled into touch.
Earlsdon broke the deadlock with a smartly taken drop goal. No further scores were made in the first half.
Almost from the kick-off a poor kick to touch was intercepted and resulted in a converted try for Earlsdon.
Despite Earlsdon's defensive resolve, George Edgington managed to get over the line for the hosts only for the referee to bring back play for a penalty to Bromsgrove.
Late in the game Bromsgrove finally got on the score board with a well-taken Tom Crook penalty.
