Pinley 20
Alcester 5
ALCESTER slipped to a second successive Warwickshire League Division One in Coventry on a disappointing afternoon at Wyken Croft.
Apart from brief spells in both halves, they were second best for most of the game with the platform for the home side's victory laid by a dominant performance by their pack.
Pinley opened up an early lead before Alcester came back before half-time, in their best spell of the game.
Brett Allard broke and then moved the ball to hooker Dickie Moore who timed the final pass well to fly half Andy Smith on the loop to score.
Skipper Pat Lamb thought he had added a second try but it was not given and it was left to Pinley to wrap up victory.
Alcester put their league woes behind on Saturday when they play Coventry Saracens in the Warwickshire Shield.
