I WOULD like to take this opportunity to thank Homebase Store and McDonald's of Tybridge Street, Worcester for their support and permission for firefighters of Worcester Red Watch and retained firefighters to hold a car wash in the stores' car park on Saturday, November 1.

Members of the public who brought their cars (approximately 150 in all) through for washing donated the fantastic sum of £1,189. The funds were raised for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund, the Riverbank Children's Ward Worcestershire Royal Hospital and James Taylor-Hall who suffers from Fragile-X Syndrome and requires a safe space area to ensure his safety.

The amount raised through the kindness of the drivers who had their cars washed mean each of these well-deserving causes will gain just under £400 pounds each.

DAVE SMITH,

Secretary,

Fire Services National Benevolent Fund,

Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade, Copenhagen Street,

Worcester.
