SHOPKEEPERS in the Droitwich area are being urged to remain vigilant because a distraction burglary gang are operating in the county.
The group, described as being Asian or Middle Eastern in appearance is believed to be behind two failed burglary attempts at Wychbold Post Office and General Stores in Worcester Road last Thursday.
Between eight to 12 people were in the gang. One woman was wearing a long, purple skirt, while one man wore a black leather jacket.
Police believe the latest incidents could be linked to the theft of £800 from a handbag in Ombersley Street West reported in last week's paper. There have also been similar incidents in Rugby and other parts of Warwickshire on Friday, October 24.
The group is believed to have been using a silver Citroen five-door saloon and possibly a blue Vauxhall Cavalier and red Ford Mondeo.
