A SPA organisation, which looks after the welfare of service and ex-service people are desperately looking for new recruits.
The Droitwich branch of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association has made a plea to find kind-hearted residents to act as advisors to those in need.
Only 10 years ago they were able to help 142 people in the area obtain benefits and charitable donations but now they only have 53 cases on the books and they are struggling to help them.
Division secretary Gloria Newman said: "There is competition from so many more charities now that it is very hard to find volunteers and even people to donate money."
She added: "People who are or have been in the forces and their dependents, deserve respect from the rest of us for what they have done or indeed still do for our country.
"They also, particularly as they grow older, may well need impartial advice and practical financial help. I see this very much as their entitlement rather than charity."
Heroes
Generous residents who would like to lend a helping hand will offer emotional support as well as assisting Britain's heroes to obtain financial and practical assistance from statutory sources.
Case workers will be expected to undergo a criminal records bureau check but will receive professional training and support and all expenses will be paid. They are also looking for fundraisers.
