A BROMSGROVE rally driver has ended the Silkolene 1400 Championship season on a high.
Crewe, with navigator John Connor, secured third place in the championship after finishing third in their class and fifth overall at the final rally of the year, the Cambrian Rally in Llanudno on Saturday, November 1.
This season has also seen John scoop top navigator for his class while the team also secured second spot in the Welsh Clubman's 1400 Championship, made up of finishes in Welsh rallies.
First place was also achieved by Crewe's BBC Rallying team in the Holpak Team Challenge for the third consecutive year.
Heavy rain made conditions tricky, claming many of the 150-strong field. After 45 miles the MG ZR returned to the finish ramp on Llandudno Promenade fifth overall.
Crewe said: "The progressive handling of the MG ZR has been superb, it has tackled some of the toughest conditions on some of the most unpredictable roads I've seen. To get to the finish was a challenge, collecting a trophy was a bonus." The 2004 season starts next February.
