THE owner of a model shop in Studley who has been burgled twice in two weeks says crime might drive him elsewhere.
Steve Holtom has run Steve's Hobbies and Models for five years after leaving his previous job as a printer.
Last Wednesday at 4.30am, thieves brazenly levered security bars off the front of his High Street premises and smashed the window before stealing remote control cars worth £2,000.
On October 21, an even more audacious burglary saw thieves smash the front window of Mr Holtom's shop at 10.30pm, when there were several people about.
They then stole items from the window display.
"Who knows whether it's the same people," said Mr Holtom.
"People saw the thieves doing the first burglary in the evening. They just don't care.
"It's disheartening and I think I might have to move.
"I know someone up the road who said they want to pack up their shop and move.
"High Street of a night is a place you don't want to be with the vandalism and youths about."
Mr Holtom, who was burgled in 2001 as well, has since improved security at his shop.
Studley Parish Council often hears about antisocial behaviour and vandalism in Studley from residents keen to see the problem tackled.
Anyone with details of the recent model shop burglary can call Alcester Police on 01789 762207.
It is believed a light blue car was involved.
