A LARGE piece of scrub land between Studley and Redditch could be turned into dedicated recreation land for the village says a parish councillor.
Bill McCarthy, who is also a Stratford Councillor, says the land between St Jude's Avenue and Redditch Road, north of Studley, could become a wildlife reserve or used for other recreational purposes.
Much of the land is overgrown said Mr McCarthy, who inspected the area with a Stratford Council wildlife officer last week.
He is now to propose to the parish council that villagers be consulted on what they would like to see done with the land, which measures about six acres.
Mr McCarthy said: "Stratford Council has to allot a certain amount of public space per head of population.
"This land was intended for housing but that was decided against because of the need to preserve green land between Studley and Redditch.
"People should get in there and decide what they would like to see there. Because without the support of the public we might have problems doing something with the land.
"It is a matter of interest for the village so we need to ask villagers what they want to see."
