West Brom 5, Pershore 2

PERSHORE continued their bad run of form in the Coa-ching Solutions League with a mediocre display last Saturday.

The hosts began the game brighter and scored early on with a well-executed free hit move.

Pershore then had their best spell of the match and a good move down the right hand wing saw the ball fall to Lisle who levelled with a fine finish.

West Brom were quicker and fitter and from two quick breaks extended their lead by half-time.

The second period began in much the same vein and it wasn't long before the home side extended their lead from a quick counter attack.

A well-worked short corner routine between Rushton, Lisle and Taylor resulted in a second goal for Pershore, through Whiting.

However, the faint glimmer of light that shone was soon extinguished when West Brom scored a fifth.

A massive effort late on failed to bring the visitors more reward and defeat has seen the losers slip to fourth in the table and they will need to improve before their next game at Ludlow on the November 22.

Walsall III 3, Pershore III 1

PERSHORE continue to introduce new, young players into what is becoming a development side but they feared the worst when visiting unbeaten Walsall.

In the end, though, they were very disappointed to lose when, for much of the game they troubled the opposition far more than expected.

Debutants Anthony and Graham Handley, joining father Tom for the first time, constantly pressurised the home defence and it was the former who scored.

Walsall regained the lead after a period of sustained pressure and they were fortunate to score a third at the final whistle as they capitalised on a quick breakaway in a vain attempt to snatch an equaliser.
