ACTRESS Imogen Stubbs has visited a Malvern school to unveil the new £3.1m performing arts and sixth form centre.

The new extension at Dyson Perrins High School, on Yates Hay Road, features a sixth form centre with common room, private studies room and classrooms together with a performing arts centre featuring music and drama studios.

Ms Stubbs, currently appearing in her new play, We Happy Few, at the Forum in Malvern, yesterday unveiled a plaque at the centre and was given a tour of the new facilities.

In the afternoon, more than 50 ex-staff members were invited back to the school for a celebratory buffet and tour of the new building.

"We were delighted with the way it went yesterday," said assistant headteacher Linda Hopley.

"We had a real day of celebration."

Work was completed in August.
