TWO funeral directors and a funeral manager have drummed up a total of nearly £1,000 for Acorns Children's Hospice Trust by taking part in a 62-mile sponsored walk.
The trio, from Co-operative Funeralcare, a funeral service in Worcester's Lowesmoor, travelled from their branch to the other Co-op funeral branches in Droitwich, Evesham and Malvern over the weekend.
Mark Lannie, a 41-year-old senior funeral director, and Ellis Badger, a 30-year-old funeral director, started the walk at 2am on Saturday.
Jean Gordon, area manager, drove a safety car behind them.
They arrived back in Worcester at 3.30pm on Sunday.
"It was fabulous," said Mrs Gordon, aged 54.
"We were all shattered but really enjoyed it.
"People were stopping their cars and putting money into the Acorns buckets carried by Mark and Ellis."
The trio travelled from Worcester to Droitwich, Evesham, Pershore and Upton-upon-Severn on Saturday.
They stopped in Upton on Saturday night before travelling to Malvern and Worcester the following day.
They have raised £920.31, from money donated and money pledged.
Building has started on the new Acorn's hospice site, on Bath Road, Worcester, this week after the trust raised £3m - £1m short of its target.
