HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: At the AGM, chairman Tom Hodgkinson presented Stella Wallis, of Inkberrow Community Council, with a cheque for £750 towards the redecoration of the newly extended and refurbished village hall in Inkberrow.
This was money raised from plant sales during the millennium and Queen's Jubilee celebrations in the village.
Stella Wallis expressed thanks to the members of the society for their financial support to the £250,000 project, which has taken three years to come to fruition. Thanks to a second successful lottery grant application and major grants from the Countryside Agency, Severn Waste Management, and Inkberrow Parish Council, together with other grants, it has been possible to provide more storage and disabled facilities, together with an improved access to all rooms from a new entrance.
New toilets and a central heating system had been installed, and better stage access had also been incorporated in the design. The old part of the building had also been re-wired.
Decoration work to complete the project was now taking place, and it is hoped to see the final completion in the early part of the new year.
Members of the society were able to view the completed village hall rooms during the evening.
