EQUESTRIAN: A Shrawley rider and horse have romped away with five wins in their last six competitions during a hot run of form.
Lorna McGowan has already clinched a place in next February's winter Midlands dressage semi-finals with six-year-old Vaquero.
They triumphed twice in the novice level at both Prescott, Shropshire, and Kingswood, Staffordshire, as well as a success at Gloucestershire's Hartpury College.
McGowan has averaged more than 64 per cent per contest in the tricky discipline, mostly on Vaquero who is owned by Great Comberton-based Diana Carter.
Now the 36-year-old wants to qualify in similar style with younger horse Edwin Col to complete an impressive double.
McGowan said: "We had to win two classes above 63 per cent which he did at Prescott in September but we've won another three since then.
"I just want to concentrate on training with him now until after Christmas and compete on the younger horse."
