DEVON may not quite hold the attraction of the Gold Coast and a quarter final against the Wallabies but for Ben Hinshelwood, a game against Plymouth Albion represents a new start.

Hinshelwood is plunged back in at the deep end on Saturday as he takes the full back role for the National One clash. Not the ideal place to resume your Worcester career you would think after only returning to the country on Tuesday.

Predictably, though, Hinshelwood cannot wait to get going again after his World Cup experience.

"Its going to be a tough, tough game for us down there," he said. "They are going to have a very, very big side and a lot of home support. We've certainly got our work cut out if we want to go there and beat them.

"I'm really looking forward to it. It's good to be back at Worcester, with the guys and I'm delighted that we're top of the table!

"Personally, it will be a bit of a contrast from last weekend but what's important is that we go to Plymouth with the right attitude and get a result."

Worcester have been forthright in their defence of Hinshelwood's treatment at international level. John Brain and Andy Keast have been ramming it down Scotland's throat that the boy is best at centre. In the end, he was given one start at 15 and then had to be content with second half cameos at full back.

"It wasn't ideal," added Hinshelwood. "But you'd rather be involved than not and I was involved in all but one of the games.

"As a player, though, you are just happy to be on the pitch and you just want to play. It's not for me to decide where.

"The whole experience was a positive one. The atmosphere in the games was massive.

"The support for smaller rugby playing countries like Uruguay and Georgia was incredible and most of the Australians were going to the games to just have a great time.

"The Olympics kicked off the whole thing and the people have responded by buying up the tickets and creating a wonderful atmosphere. They have done a really good job because it has been a great spectacle.

"It was a great buzz to play in front of those sort of crowds and it gives you an appetite for more. More of the same would be very welcome!

"It was certainly an experience playing against Australia! I might have been born in the country but I'm full on Scottish now!

"I'd played with a few of the guys in the Wallabies team when I was at Sydney University so it was good fun playing against them and catching up.

"The national anthems before kick-off were so loud, it was incredible and quite emotional for a number of the Scottish lads who were playing their final game for their country."

Coaches often add that those experiences help you as a player and Hinshelwood is in no doubt that he returns much improved.

"The experience helps you as a player because you learn to focus completely on the game instead of getting distracted by the crowds or the occasion. You look at your game and what's actually in front of you.

"I've also picked up aspects from the Scotland coaching and brought that back. Hopefully, we can make certain things work for Worcester."
