CYCLING: Liam Preece was unlucky for his new Bike 51 Racing team in the West Midlands Cyclo-Cross League fourth round at Atherstone on Sunday.
The Stourport rider was leading the race involving juniors, veterans and women by 40 seconds with two laps to go when he sustained a puncture.
But Preece still managed to finish third, behind Andrew Tennant, of Wolverhampton Wheelers, and Ross Dingley.
Wyre Forest Cycle Racing Club rider Joe Rowe rode superbly to gain 10th place in the veterans.
The Forest club have their 27th annual meeting on Monday from 8pm at Stourport Sports Club.
