THE forwards and backs seemed to click as Stourport put the ghosts of the previous week's defeat behind them with a 24-10 win over Aldridge in North Midlands One.
There was an abundance of effort from Stourport in possibly their best display so far this season.
Scrum-half Dai Morris showed they meant business within the first 10 minutes as he picked up at a ruck, darted through five defenders and popped the ball out to Lee Philps.
The fly-half placed the ball between the posts and converted the extra points.
But Aldridge replied five minutes later with an unconverted try in the corner from a driving maul off a line-out.
Stourport hit back with another try to lead 12-5 at the interval as Victor Little broke for 20 yards from a line-out down the blind side and fed Gary Williams to score a try.
With the conversion missed, the home side offered no let-up in the second period and a short line-out five minutes led to another score.
The ball was spun across to Craig Baylis who broke through two tackles and drove his defender over the try-line to score in the corner.
Aldridge piled pressure on Stourport for a second unconverted try but were not allowed to rescue the game.
A fantastic kick-and-chase move by Philps allowed him to score under the posts and his conversion completed the scoring.
Fixture, Saturday: Stourport v Bromyard (North Midlands Cup, 2pm).
