"Colliery to Country Park" was the title of Don Bannister's talk at the October meeting of this Kidderminster club, about the transformation of a derelict coalmine, complete with spoil heaps and rusting machinery, to a thriving country park.
The Severn Valley Country Park at Alveley is now the habitat of much wildlife, including rare plants, birds, animals and insects, and routed walkways enable visitors to enjoy and discover all there is to see in this reclaimed land.
John Ratcliffe will be the speaker at the meeting on Tuesday at 2pm in Trinity Church Centre, Kidderminster.
The subject of his talk will be "The Houses, Gardens and Churches of Worcestershire".
Visitors are always welcome at meetings, which are non-political and non-sectarian.
