FUNDRAISERS for the redevelopment of Number 8 in Pershore got a boost with a special donation towards a new art gallery.
The Baxters Foundation, charitable trust of the owners of Garner's of Pershore, donated £20,000 towards the art gallery. It will form part of the town's new £1.2m community and arts centre.
Andrew Clasen, Number 8 fundraising director said: "This is by far the largest donation that we have had from the commercial sector and it gives a flying start to our push to raise the remaining £700,000 that is needed to complete the second phase of the project."
Work began on the project in July this year and when completed the centre will house a multi-purpose auditorium, art facilities and a caf bar with views over Pershore High Street.
